Businesses in Werribee, Victoria, and throughout the Wyndham local government area are being urged to enter the 2016 Business Awards.
Aimed at celebrating excellence within the commercial sector, the awards have been described by Cr. Intaj Khan, Economic Development Portfolio Holder, as a “great opportunity” to showcase some of the many business achievers.
He said the awards enabled everyone to recognise the important contribution the business sector makes to the economy and community.
Cr. Khan emphasised the passion and vibrancy of local business, which was growing in pace with population. Its diversity and strength, he said, would be critical to the long-term sustainability of the city.
He said events such as the Wyndham Business Awards were one way of showing Council’s desire to ensure that local businesses prosper.
The ability of businesses to generate employment and business activity within the community were important factors to Wyndham’s future, he added. This included the use of associated industries such as printing services that stock offices with everything from premium Business Cards and Stationery, to Presentation Folders.
The 16 award categories cover everything from manufacturers to franchises, with the top winner receiving the prestigious Business of the Year Award.
Entries close on June 24, with judging to be conducted from July 11 to 22, followed by a gala presentation evening at the Encore Events Centre on August 26.
