Dr Spencer said that the institute assists government agencies, universities, TAFEs and commercial businesses in facilitating the use of drone technology in the workplace. He also said drones offer the opportunity for innovation and improvement in safety, with drones able to access small and dangerous spaces.
The Victorian State Government also announced at the open day, a $1.3 million grant to support a training program designed for civil construction workers at the Werribee campus. The program will fund equipment needed to train students in a tunnel-simulated environment for students wanting to work on major building enterprises.
Werribee MP, Tim Pallas said the training will provide a stepping stone for future employment.
The Victorian University Polytechnic offers vocational educational courses, advice and industry training programs as part of an initiative to link services between students and employers. Flyer and poster printing can be used effectively to advertise courses and opportunities in the workplace.
