The two biggest cricket teams in Wyndham will be going head to head for a good cause later this month.
The Werribee Cricket Club will be hosting the Hoppers Crossing club in a special match to raise money for the Movember Foundation.
The Movember Foundation works to increase awareness of men’s health problems and drum up funds for various initiatives.
During November, men are encouraged to grow moustaches and be sponsored for their efforts. So far, more than $580 million has been raised and the money has funded more than 800 programmes in more than 20 countries.
A number of players from each club have been taking part in the Movember challenge, and they will compete in the match at the end of the month.
This is the first annual Movember match and fans can show their support for friends and relatives during the game using banner printing, perhaps even featuring a picture of their favourite player with their moustache.
The event starts with the children’s programme in the morning followed by a match between the under 21s from both clubs.
The match takes place on Sunday, November 30th at Chirnside Park, with all proceeds going to the Movember Foundation. For more information on how to make a donation, visit the Werribee club’s website.
