Bollywood fun coming to Werribee

Bollywood film fans from Werribee will be able to enjoy some culture on their doorstep next month with several movies being screened as part of the Indian Film Festival.

A number of Indian movies will be shown at the Wyndham Cultural Centre in Werribee including several popular Bollywood feature films. This is the first time the festival has played to crowds outside of Melbourne’s central business district and Wyndham Council’s portfolio holder for Cultural Diversity, Councillor Gautam Gupta stated that it was a great honour for the area to host some of the film screenings. He said:
“Wyndham has a strong and vibrant Indian community and this is a great opportunity for residents to come together, watch a movie, have some fun, find out about their neighbours and learn about Indian culture. There will be events for all age groups”

Organisers of the festival are likely to employ Print companies offering poster printing in order to advertise screening dates and times to residents as well as the other events being held as part of the festival.

A number of activities will be taking place in the Piazza in conjunction with the film showings including dancing, family entertainment and food stalls. Festival-goers may also recognise some performers, with local dancers and musicians being invited to join in the event.

The Indian Film Festival will be held between Tuesday August 25 and Sunday August 30.
