Music lovers in Werribee can enjoy a series of concerts in the lead up to Christmas, featuring some of Australia’s premier musicians.
Wyndham City Council has organised the concerts, which will see ARIA award winning singers taking to a stage set up in Station Place.
Artists scheduled to appear include singer Dallas Frasca, who has previously shared a stage with Aerosmith and Van Halen, lead guitarist of The Screaming Jets Jimi Hocking, and multi-ARIA winner Jeff Lang.
Each headline artist will be supported by two local bands or solo musicians to encourage the area’s music scene.
Werribee locals should look out for poster printing advertising the names appearing in the coming weekend, and the support acts.
The professional musicians will also be giving a short talk on their experience of the music industry and passing on tips to up-and-coming acts.
The events have been organised as part of the council’s Music In Our City programme, which was highlighted in the City Plan and is designed to create a better atmosphere in the area’s open spaces. The concerts will run in conjunction with the annual RED project that brings artworks to locations around the city centre.
The first concert will be held on Saturday, November 21st and the gigs run each Saturday until December 12. The events run from midday to 3:30 pm.
