Soil workshop coming to Footscray area
Footscray locals are invited to participate in the Restoring Healthy Soils workshop, an innovative gardening event scheduled for February.
A My Smart Garden event hosted by Maribyrnong City Council, the workshop will uncover the importance of healthy soil and what gardeners can do to enrich their soil and plants. The workshop host, Craig Castree, will explore soil health fundamentals, the significance of microbial activity, and the power of humus. Using his newly-published book, Soil is Not A Dirty Word, Castree will provide practical solutions to varied soil problems.
Attendees will learn the importance of soil revitalisation, with less reliance on chemicals and a restoration of the soil’s powerful nutrients. They are also encouraged to bring along any excess produce, cuttings, seeds, plants, and gardening books and magazines to share and swap with other participants.
This gardening event will deliver effective strategies designed to revitalise farming, produce, and gardening.
Organisers of community events can use printing services for effective promotions and advertising. Brochure printing is an effective way to market an event and deliver important and useful information in a straightforward, digestible way.
The Restoring Healthy Soils workshop will be held on Saturday, 1 February, 2025 at the Raleigh Road Activity Centre, 54 Raleigh Rd, Maribyrnong, VIC, 3032. The workshop commences at 10:30AM and concludes at 12:00PM. Admission is free, with attendees able to register through the Humanitix website.
