Richmond Town Hall will play host to some of Yarra’s hardworking volunteers next month, with a special event being held in their honour.
Yarra City Council has organised the event as part of National Volunteer Week, to mark the contribution made by around 11,000 volunteers who work in the community. Opportunities for helping others around Yarra include sports teams, the arts, care for the elderly and the environment.
During the event, Yarra’s mayor, Councillor Phillip Vlahogiannis, will be giving certificates of recognition to each of the volunteers who attend. There will also be the chance to have a photograph taken with the mayor.
Recipients could ask a printing company to create a high-resolution copy of the photograph, which could be displayed alongside their certificate.
The event will take place on Monday, May 11th between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm at Richmond Town Hall, but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Attendance must be registered by Friday, April 24th by completing the form on the Yarra City Council website. Registrations can be made individually or by an organisation.
Volunteers who cannot attend can ask for a certificate to be posted to them during Volunteer Week.
