There are just two chances left for Richmond film fans to enjoy a screening as part of the Bridge Road Film Festival this year.
The festival involves a series of films, from classics to family favourites, being screened at the Richmond Town Hall in Bridge Road.
The next film will be Some Like It Hot, showing on Saturday, June 14th. The classic, made in 1959, stars Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in show-stopping scenes disguised as women who join an all-girl orchestra, and was one of Marilyn Monroe’s most popular movies.
On Saturday, June 28th, the festival concludes with The Blues Brothers starring Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, as two brothers who revive their rhythm and blues band to try to save an orphanage from closure.
Iconic images from both films were used in poster printing to advertise the movies, with Some Like It Hot featuring the male leads in their female costumes and The Blues Brothers employing their trademark hats and sunglasses for the promotional material. Reproductions of these Posters are on display during the festival, with cut-out faces so locals can put themselves in the film stars' shoes for a photograph.
Many Bridge Road traders – including local restaurants, shops, and bars – offer special discounts during festival screenings. Tickets for all the films are free, and can be booked via the Bridge Road website.Get a Free Quote for Posters
