Richmond to host US folk

An acclaimed American band playing folk music will soon appear live on stage at a venue in Richmond.

All the way from North Carolina in the US, folk group Hiss Golden Messenger are undertaking a tour of Australia. Marking the band’s first trip to antipodean territories, the tour will take its members to a wide range of states and suburbs including Richmond, where they will play a set at the Corner Hotel.

Hotels and other accommodation options often use branded Letterheads for their official correspondence which feature their logo and contact details.

The upcoming gig in Richmond will see the band led by frontman Michael Carrington (M.C.) Taylor play new material from their 15th album in the studio, entitled “Jump for Joy”. Set for release in August this year, the recording combines a wide range of music genres including rock n roll, blues, soul, country and folk.

Fans attending will also likely get a chance to hear some classic tracks which may include “I Need a Teacher”, and “Biloxi”.

With plenty of awards and accolades to their credit including a Grammy Award nomination for “Best Americana Album” the band have enjoyed successful shows at The Troubadour in West Hollywood and the Newport Folk Festival.

Hiss Golden Messenger can be found at the Corner Hotel on Wednesday, September 27. The band will be on stage from 7.30 pm onwards, and the hotel is located on Swan Street in Richmond.
