Richmond families encouraged to help Good Friday Appeal

Richmond families can enjoy a day out and help a good cause this Easter at a special event for children.

The Kids Day Out event at the Melbourne Convention centre has been organised as part of the Good Friday Appeal, which raises money for The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Youngsters will be kept busy all day taking their favourite toy for a check-up at the teddy bear hospital, participating in a cooking class and meeting pirates aboard a ship.

Older children and adults will enjoy meeting stars from Home and Away and My Kitchen Rules, or taking a ride in a Hummer limousine or a Mustang before letting off some steam in the roller disco or on the running track.

With so many activities to choose from, visitors should look out for brightly coloured banner printing to help them pick out their chosen events.

The venue is also the base for the Good Friday Appeal telethon that will start during the Kids Day Out.

Food trucks and a sausage sizzle along the South Wharf are set to provide refreshments to attendees.

Entry to the event is free, but each activity requires a donation to the appeal.

Kids Day Out takes place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday, April 3rd between 10am and 6pm.
