Richmond brewery included in Melbourne beer run

The Melbourne Beer Run is a five-kilometre fun run and will take place around the suburbs of Richmond, Collingwood and Abbotsford combining, as the name suggests, running and drinking beer.

Participants will visit five breweries over the course of the run to enjoy a beer at each. The run will start from Mountain Goat Brewery in North Street, Richmond and will call at Moon Dog Brewery on Duke Street in Abbotsford, The Mill Brewery on Sackville Street, Collingwood and The Craft and Co Brewery and Fixation Brewery, both on Smith Street, Collingwood.

Registration costs $55 which includes the cost of the five beers, a Beer Run bib and a commemorative bottle opener medal. To manage the large number of participants, there will be several waves of runners, with each wave starting 30 minutes after the previous one. The run usually takes between two and three hours, depending largely on how much time participants want to spend savouring their beers.

Similar runs will be held in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth and $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to 12FOR12 to help them raise $100,000 for mental health charity, Beyond Blue. The 2019 Melbourne Beer Run will be held on Sunday February 10th, with start times from midday.

Events racing round a particular course often use printing services to create signage to mark the way and alert other users of the route.
