Launched recently, the Cremorne Place Implementation Plan represents a guide for developing Cremorne as a major precinct for global technology and innovation, according to Digital Economy, Medical Research and Innovation Minister Jaala Pulford. She said the aim is to accelerate the centre's development, and added:
“The Cremorne Digital Hub will be a world-class facility where tomorrow’s tech workforce can come to upskill, where entrepreneurs can start up, and industry and institutions can partner to drive new R&D.”
Pulford said the creation of a digital hub that is purpose-built and will enable businesses, projects and people to come together to help boost innovation and collaboration is a major aim of the plan.
The centre will also host development and research in sectors of advanced technology, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cyber security, and will provide facilities to not only share equipment and ideas, but also to lower costs for new tech and start-up companies.
Cremorne is already home to leading tech achievers with impressive Business Cards, including SEEK, Carsales, REAGroup and MYOB.
The plan's vision is for the long-term and includes a guide to how Cremorne should develop and progress to drive investment and support innovative, high-tech enterprises.
