Live music set to rock Richmond

Music lovers in Richmond have a new venue to enjoy bands at the Leaps and Bounds music festival this year.

The Richmond Theatrette is a little-known venue above Richmond Library, but in the coming weeks it will host eight concerts with musicians from around Australia as part of the festival, which is now in its third year.

The first concert will be held on Saturday July 12 and will feature Sydney-based songwriter Perry Keyes with support from local singer Nick Batterham. Keyes will return the following night, this time supported by Jack Howard and Nicky Del Ray.

The run of shows will end on Sunday July 19 with a performance from indie band EVEN along with The Jangle Band. EVEN frontman, Ashley Naylor, will perform a solo acoustic show earlier in the festival and local songwriters Ross McLennan and Ben Mason are also on the bill.

The venue owners could use poster printing to promote the festival and any events to be held at the theatrette in the future.

Festival acts will also perform at five other venues around Richmond including The Great Britain Hotel and Dizzy’s Jazz Club. In total, more than 300 events will be held around the City of Yarra featuring more than 800 performers.

A full programme for the Leaps and Bounds Festival can be found on the official event website, where tickets can also purchased.
