Learn about clean energy in Richmond

Environmental issues concern many people now, and in Richmond locals can learn about using greener energy by using electricity.

The Electrify Yarra volunteer community group is passionate about moving to sustainable and clean energy as soon as possible. Planning for the future, the group believes it is possible to reduce the use of fossil fuel and transition towards cleaner, more efficient renewable energy in the form of electric machines and appliances. By providing information to residents about reducing bills and emissions, it is hoped to get interested parties on board and making changes at a domestic level.

The community event will enable all in the area to share stories, understand problems that might arise, with help and advice on hand from independent trade experts. All are welcome to learn about the vision for the future which will benefit private homes, small businesses and landlords.

The group has teamed up with Dr Saul Griffith, of Rewiring Australia. He says:

“If we electrify everything, we don’t just help address the climate crisis, we create a world that is cheaper, cleaner and fairer for every household.”

Statistics relating to savings made by switching to electricity generation from fossil fuels may be documented in leaflets produced in local Print shops.
