Food from around the world will be on offer in Richmond next month, with a special party being held.
The first ever Global Gathering, which is being organised as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, will celebrate Richmond’s cultural diversity and give residents the chance to sample a host of foods, including Greek, Mexican and Italian.
More than 30 restaurants and pubs will take part in the event and will be offering wine and beer with their gastronomical fare.
Printing services have been used to create a special passport for visitors to collect from the information points, which will then be stamped by each participating venue.
Those who want to immerse themselves further can enter a burger eating competition or try a beer taster masterclass, while cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs are sure to make even the most reluctant cook want to have a go in the kitchen.
Guests who would rather relax over their food can experience the live entertainment.
Visitors can choose from tasting plates starting at $5, and anyone who makes at least four purchases will be entered into a draw to win a kitchen appliance package.
The event will take place along Bridge Road on Sunday, March 1st, and runs from 11am to 4pm. For more information, visit the Global Gathering website.
