Melbourne will be celebrating all things Greek this February with a major festival arriving in the coastal capital this coming February.
Those of Greek heritage and people with a love of the European country’s rich culture from Richmond and other suburbs of the city will not want to miss this upcoming event. Entitled “The Lonsdale Street Festival”, the occasion will offer a weekend of celebrations in honour of Australia’s Greek community.
Organisers and promoters of major city events like fairs, festivals and conventions sometimes employ professional banner printing services to create branded or themed signage featuring national emblems or company logos.
Originally known as the “Antipodes Festival”, the event promises all who attend a true taste of Greece from traditional music and dance to freshly cooked treats and authentic drinks. A family-friendly occasion, there will be entertainment designed specifically for children, including storytelling sessions, balloon sculpting and face painting.
A “Zorba ‘Till You Drop” dance contest is planned, and a singing competition called “Magic Mic”. Gourmet chefs will be dishing up Greek cuisine at culinary demonstrations and there will be a selection of carnival rides. Finally, more than 60 different stalls will be set up over the two-day event serving food and drink for all tastes and diets.
The hub for the Lonsdale Street Festival will be at 168 Lonsdale Street in Melbourne. The event will take place from Saturday, February 25 to Sunday, February 26.
