Richmond is set to extend a warm welcome to a US digital hardcore band that formed in New York City.
While originally hailing from the Big Apple, American two-piece Machine Girl recently made the move to relocate to the Pennsylvanian city, Pittsburgh. The band that that is made up of drummer Sean Kelly and producer-vocalist Matt Stephenson have earned their stripes with a tour across North America and will now play Richmond as part of their upcoming tour of Australia. The two-man band are infamous for their cathartic and unpredictable live performances that have grown them a loyal following of punks, metal heads and club kids from both the grind core and underground rave scene. Machine Gil are now leading a new wave of New York DIY recording artists that also includes artists like Prison Religion, Bonnie Baxter and Deli Girls.
Machine Girl is set to play the Corner Hotel located at 57 Swan Street in Richmond on Thursday, June 23. The show will start at 8 pm and end at 11.59 pm and will feature tracks from the band’s most recent album called U-Void Synthesizer that was released back in spring 2020, along with numbers sourced from their earlier efforts.
