As part of his exhibition ‘The History of the Built World’, the internationally renowned photographer will present a talk in the midst of his many fascinating images which creatively focus on the built environment.
According to Councillor Raylene Carr, the display will showcase the amazing ability of Golling to capture architecture and the way it interacts and blends into its surroundings. She added:
“From Australian suburbia to Indian temples, from an aerial view of Surfers Paradise to the stunning Lotus Building in China, there is so much to ponder here about the way humans inhabit the world.”
Gollings holds joint interests in architecture and photography and has spent the past half century exploring the ‘cultural construction of social spaces’.
A Travelling Exhibition of the Monash Gallery of Art, History of the Built World represents a milestone, with it being Golling’s first major survey of his photographic practice. Exhibitions such as this often use poster printing services for promotional purposes, often using the work of the artist.
The free exhibition will continue to run at the Whitehorse Artspace until June 15. Gollings will conduct his floor talk at 2pm on May 25.
