A workshop that lets children learn circus skills is running at a major performing arts centre in Nunawading.
Families in the area looking for original activities can enrol their children in the “Trash Test Dummies: Workshop”. The popular circus comedy crew will be following their performance in the suburb with a circus skills workshop that teaches all taking part some of the moves they use in their shows.
Comedy troupes that perform for young audiences sometimes reach out to banner printing services for colourful signage and adverts that appeal to children and get them engaged.
Suitable for kids aged six and over, the workshop begins with a group game and a warmup before circus training gets underway. There are five different skills to learn: hula hooping, poi spinning, plate spinning, acrobat balancing and the circus favourite, ball juggling. This last lesson teaches hand eye coordination, catching, throwing and features tricks involving one, two and three balls.
No previous experience is necessary for children to participate, and the event is led by professional performers.
Trash Test Dummies Workshop will now run at The Round on Wednesday, September 23. The event starts at 12.15 pm and last for an hour. All children attending must be accompanied by an adult and admission is $22 per child. The arts centre is easy to find at 379 to 399 Whitehorse Road in Nunawading.
