People living in and around Mitcham have the opportunity to raise money for a great cause by signing up to the Pink Stumps Day next month.
The McGrath Foundation is the legacy of Jane McGrath, who set up the foundation as a result of her cancer diagnosis. The goal was to fund breast cancer nurses across Australia.
McGrath’s husband, Glenn, is a retired Australian cricketer, and so Australian Cricket has always been involved in the fundraising efforts for this worthy cause. The initiative was first launched within community clubs on 5 January 2011 - now also known as Jane McGrath Day.
People in the community are urged to rally and submit a team so that they can play cricket on Pink Stumps Day, helping to raise funds to ensure that no-one faces cancer without physiological, emotional and physical support from a specialist nurse. This applies to both the patient and the family.
The Pink Stumps Day Kit contains items such as badges and stick-on tattoos that may be produced by local Print shops.
Pink Stumps Day will take place on Saturday, 8 February, from 3pm until 5.30pm. The venue is the Heatherdale Reserve Pavilion at the Heatherdale Cricket Club, which can be found on Purches Street in Mitcham. Tickets cost $50, to include food and drinks. Donations of prizes for the raffle and silent auction will be greatly received by the charity.Get a Free Quote for Print
