Mitcham to experience Australian rock

Melbourne is set to welcome home a rock band with roots in the city.

Hailing from Melbourne, the band formed in Victoria’s capital back in 2010. The current line up boasts Stu Mackenzie on vocals, guitar, keyboards, flute and sitar, Cook Craig on bass, keyboard and vocals, Ambrose Kenny-Smith on keyboards and harmonica, Joey Walker on guitar, keyboards, Michael Cavanagh on drums and Lucas Harwood on bass and keyboards.

With a reputation for electrifying live shows and an exploration of multiple music genres, the band’s set lists are formed from an extensive discography. To date, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard has released nine live albums, two EPs, two compilation records and 18 albums created in the studio.

Those attending the coming gig will be able to hear classics like “Billabong Valley”, “Crumbling Castle” and “Robot Stop”, among others.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard will take the stage at the Forum Melbourne, based at 154 Flinders Street, on Friday, October 15 between 7.30 pm and 10.30 pm.
