Box Hill, near Mitcham, will be the location for the Whitehorse Council’s global fiesta, which celebrates cultural diversity in the community for national Harmony Day.
Food and drink stalls will be present, providing meals from many different cuisines. Local community groups will be operating stalls, while performers will entertain visitors with music from all countries and cultural backgrounds.
Many amusements and entertainments are planned for the afternoon, including a ceremony to kick off the event, which will be presented by performers from the indigenous Wurundjeri Tribe. Other activities will include an Australian animal farm and culturally specific games. Children will be catered for with a number of fun rides.
National Harmony Day is observed annually in Australia on 21st March, with the message that this is a multicultural country and cultural diversity is to be celebrated with everyone feeling welcome in the community.
An information stall will be on site for visitors to obtain a Global Fiesta passport, which will be a guide to the activities and games on offer.
Interested visitors may find Business Cards, Flyers or Promotional Products at community stalls.
The fiesta will be held on Sunday 19th March, starting with the Smoking Ceremony at 12.00pm and closing at 4.00pm at Box Hill Gardens. Admission is free to everyone and families are welcome.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Flyers
