American artist Chelsea Wolfe will now perform live in Melbourne, enabling her fans in Mitcham and other suburbs to hear her unique blend of goth, folk and doom metal. The upcoming concert is part Wolfe’s tour to promote her new album entitled ‘Birth of Violence’.
The record was both written and recorded at her Northern California home and sees the singer-songwriter return to folk music for inspiration. She recently described the album as:
“An internal awakening of feminine energy, a connection to the maternal spirit of the Earth and a defiant stance against the destructive and controlling forces of a greedy and hostile patriarchy.”
This theme is easily identifiable in the first track of the album ‘The Mother Road’. Recording artists and their music labels often look to professional Graphic Design Services to set artwork and typography for album sleeves.
Wolfe will be accompanied in Melbourne by her four-piece band and will have support from Emma Ruth Rundle, a fellow performer on the same label, Sargent House. Wolfe’s last national tour of Australia was back in 2012.
Chelsea Wolfe will be on stage at Max Watts Melbourne, 125 Swanston Street in Melbourne on Sunday, June 19. The show will begin at 8.00 pm.
