Console and PC gamers in the Mitcham area who might be seeking a new challenge and sign up to take part in the Big LAN XIV party.
The Big LAN party first happened in 2019. It was a popular event, with sponsors involved, where gamers could take part in tournaments, esports and classic LAN games.
For the Big LAN in 2024, attendees can turn up and just watch, or join in, either as individuals or as part of a team. There is also an option to bring PCs or consoles, or to pay extra and use the equipment provided.
Games included on the day in the main tournament will be Counter Strike 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Halo, Rocket League, Tetris, Impact Point, Quake Arena, Track Mania and Golf with your Friends. There will also be an opportunity to play Blood on the Clocktower, which is a social game played in person. Additionally, board games are available for those who prefer a less digital arena.
Prizes can be won, to include such items as sponsorship items, Apparel and peripherals. Often, sponsorship will provide Promotional Products that are sourced locally.
The Big LAN XIV is taking place on 5th October, with doors opening at 11am. The location is 8-12 Simla Street, Mitcham, VIV 3132. Those under 18 require a parent or guardian with them. Spectator tickets cost $5, with tickets to take part costing from $23.
