Community House offers new Creative Writing course

Mitcham Community House is offering a new tutored Creative Writing course beginning in April.

The Community House prides itself on creating classes to help individuals grow and learn and with twelve new classes added to their programme this year, it is ensuring it remains relevant to the local community.

One of these new courses, Creative Writing, is designed for anyone over the age of 18 who wishes to learn how to express themselves through the medium of writing. The course is presented by a qualified tutor with years of experience and is affordably priced at $125 for eight weeks of tutoring.

Classes cover topics such as writing techniques and styles and include discussions and exercises to develop participants’ analytical and written skills. This Creative Writing class will benefit those who need step-by-step instruction and constructive feedback on their work. Participants are able to support one another and celebrate achievements in a friendly environment.

Mitcham Community House has served its community for years and sees about 1,400 children and adults attending various activities each week. Located in the heart of Mitcham, the not-for-profit organisation hopes to make learning achievable and affordable for residents through its varied educational and recreational programmes. Many community centres make use of brochure printing to advertise their programmes to residents.

The Creative Writing course is hosted at the Mitcham Community House on a Wednesday morning. The next semester begins on 22nd April and runs until 10th June. More information can be found on the centre’s website.
