Best of political satire set to delight theatre audiences

Mitcham residents will have a rare opportunity to see The Wharf Revue when it hits the stage of the Whitehorse Centre soon.

Print shops have been busy preparing promotional Flyers for the show, which is being presented by the Sydney Theatre Company in only four venues across Victoria.

The popular production The Wharf Revue: The Patriotic Rag incorporates the comedic minds of Phillip Scott, Drew Forsythe and Jonathan Biggins and, according to organisers, is “political satire at its very best.”

Councillor Raylene Carr, of the City of Whitehorse, said the good, bad and the ugly of Australia’s political leaders is explored in a hilarious way by The Wharf Revue. He explained:

“The Wharf Revue shows are always a treat and offer some of the cleverest, finger-on-the-pulse political satire in Australia. The group shines a light on the country’s politicians and their sometimes questionable decisions and statements with a real sense of fun.”

Content of the Patriotic Rag is all new, according to Cr. Carr, and it features the latest, fibre-to-the-node doses of rib-tickling songs and side-splitting sketches.

She said the sketches bring out the lows and the highs of memorable characters and some moments they would probably prefer to forget.

Carr said The Wharf Revue will provide audiences with a chance to have a good laugh when it takes to the Whitehorse Centre Theatre stage on October 19 and 20 at 8:00 pm, and October 21 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
