Attended by tens of thousands and watched by millions of viewers in their own homes on Christmas Eve, Carols by Candlelight in Melbourne is one of the premier Christmas events in Australia.
Hosted last year by Lisa Wilkinson and David Campbell, many of Australia’s most popular and talented artists will come together again this year to present a full program of live performances of Christmas Carols and songs in an outdoors venue.
Having begun in 1938, 2016 will be the 78th time that the event has been organised. Artists each year have included David Hobson, Denis Walter and Anthony Calea, along with the inevitable Humphrey B Bear and of course, Father Christmas himself. A mass choir and orchestra also participate. All of the monies raised by ticket sales and donations are then donated to Vision Australia to assist with their work with blind and visually impaired children.
The evening traditionally concludes with a brilliant display of fireworks. It is possible that poster printing and Flyers will be used to advertise the carols and booklet printing to Print the songbooks. Signs will be in place to direct visitors to the venue.
Carols by Candlelight will take place on Saturday 24th December from 8:00 pm to approximately 11:00 pm at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in King’s Domain Park in Melbourne.
