US indie giants to play in Melbourne CBD

A venue in Melbourne CBD will welcome an American indie band well-known for playing folk punk.

Music fans based around Victoria will not want to miss the chance to see the renowned US group Violent Femmes when they play in Melbourne CBD in the new year. Founded by bass guitarist Brian Ritchie and vocalist guitarist Gordon Ganot back in 1980, the band went on to record 10 albums in the studio, including “Why Do Birds Sing?” and “We Can Do Anything”. They also released a total of 15 singles while extensively touring both nationally and abroad.

Commenting on the group’s continuing success, Rolling Stone Magazine wrote:

“They’re still fun and vital, and they still know how to make an exit.”

From bands playing punk and folk to pop and rock acts, musicians often rely on printing services with expert design teams to create artwork for their album covers.

Fans of the band’s unforgettable mix of punk and folk music who attend the upcoming concert will get the chance to hear live renditions of tracks by the Violent Femmes like “Please Don’t Go”, “Kiss Off”, “Gone Daddy Gone”, “Add It Up”, “Blister in the Sun” and the crowd favourite “American Music”.

The Violent Femmes will now play at The Forum Melbourne on 154 Flinders Street on February 18.
