Slick UK duo to play in Melbourne CBD

UK duo Morcheeba is set to entertain the people of Melbourne CBD next month.

Morcheeba was started by Skye Edwards and the Godfrey brothers in the mid-1990s in Kent, in the UK. The unique sound is a heady mix of rock, trip hop and laid-back lounge with a chilled atmosphere. The line-up has altered over the years, and now the duo consists of Skye and Ross Godfrey. In 2021, the latest album, Blackest Blue, was released, and reached number fourteen on the Official Album Downloads Chart Top 100. Of this album, the duo has said:

“Blackest Blue is about finding a way through the darkest of times and emerging the other side, changed but intact.”

No doubt the audience will be waiting to hear Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day, their most popular single to date, which reached number 28 in the Australian singles chart.

As well as touring Perth, Sydney and Brisbane, the band will be pitching up and playing at the WOMAD festival in Adelaide. Bands and musicians are advertised by means of local poster printing to spread the word within the community.

Morcheeba is appearing at The Forum, Melbourne, on Saturday 9th March at 7.30pm. Standing tickets cost $99.90. Support is provided by Moody and Ruby Jackson.
