Ravers of yesteryear who live in Melbourne CBD may wish to try out a retro silent disco in June.
Silent discos have been coming increasingly popular across the globe. Amazing Silent Discos have been holding events in the US and UK as well as Australia.
At the event in Melbourne, attendees will receive wireless light-up headphones. There will be three channels to pick from, each channel of which is receiving carefully curated music from one of three DJs who are spinning tunes simultaneously, side by side on the decks. One will be being playing 80s anthems, one will be playing 90s bangers and one will be playing popular tunes from the 00s. Participants can switch between the channels seamlessly or take them off entirely for chaotic crowd karaoke.
On the play lists are bound to be songs by Madonna, the Spice Girls and The Killers. To add dynamism to the evening, there will also be immersive lighting, special effects, props and clever staging, in order to provide a magical experience for the party-goers.
Colourful poster printing is one way in which popular events can be advertised to local people.
The Retro Silent Disco is taking place at the Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday 21st June, from 6.30 until 9pm. Tickets cost from $43.66. There is no dress code at the event.
