Printing services on show at PacPrint

Melbourne, Victoria will be hosting the most influential graphic arts trade show in the Pacific region next year. Exhibitors will be showcasing the latest developments in traditional printing techniques as well as innovations in areas such as photography and design. PacPrint has been held every four years since 1970, and provides a venue where Packaging, labelling, graphics and printing companies can network with suppliers, colleagues, competitors and customers. The last PacPrint, held in 2009, attracted more than 15,000 visitors.

Print companies based in Melbourne will be given a chance to see first hand how new graphic arts and Print technologies can assist them with servicing their existing clients and expanding their customer base. Many of the big names in graphic arts will be exhibiting including Ricoh, Agfa, Ferrostaal, FujiFilm, Kodak and Oce-Canon.

Press manufacturer Heidelberg's controversial decision not to attend next year's PacPrint means that Ryobi will be the only offset press brand represented at the exhibition. i-grafix.com recently published an interview with Bernard Cheong, managing director of Cyber, Ryobi's major press distributor in Australia and New Zealand. Mr Cheong stressed PacPrint's role in giving graphic arts companies opportunities to reduce their overheads by promoting environmentally friendly strategies.

With so many big names in the industry ready to present their brand to the marketplace, PacPrint looks set to maintain its reputation as the southern hemisphere's largest and most important printing trade show. PacPrint 2013 will be held in the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 21 to the 25.
