Jeremy Hopkins and Jackie Bornstein are accomplished jazz singers who are going to perform an evening of Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee hits. Accompanying them will be guitarist James Sherlock, flautist Yael Zamir, bass guitarist Philip Rex and Ryan Menezes on drums.
Singing together and as solo vocalists, the playlist will include classics such as I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Fly Me to the Moon and Don’t Smoke in Bed. As well as the songs, the pair will share anecdotes of the enduring friendship between Lee and Sinatra and their ascent to becoming influential twentieth century singers. The pair had met in 1941 when they both played the Paramount Theatre, remaining lifelong friends and close creative colleagues. Sinatra said of Lee:
“Her wonderful talent should be studied by all vocalists; her regal presence is pure elegance and charm.”
