Fans to enjoy platinum-selling rock band in Melbourne CBD

People living in the area of Melbourne CBD need look no further than the Rod Laver arena to get a dose of captivating, classic popular music.

Crowded House has been around for almost four decades, in which time the band has amassed 13 ARIA Awards, three Aotearoa Awards and a Brit Award. Tours are continually sold out and their songs have been streamed billions of times.

The band was originally formed by Neil Finn, Nick Seymour and the late Paul Hester. Their original album, Crowded House, included the hit singles Don’t Dream It’s Over and Something So Strong, both of which have been covered by many artists.

Crowded House has disbanded a couple of times, finally reuniting in 2020 with a new line-up, including Finn’s sons Elroy and Liam. The latest album, Gravity Stairs, was released in 2024, with Mojo Magazine claiming that:
“Gravity Stairs is the most Crowded House thing that Crowded House have made in 30 years.”
