All skill levels of photographers in the CBD area of Melbourne are catered for with Alwyn’s Photo School as there is guidance on capturing special after-dark photographs of the city.
Cities take on a different atmosphere under artificial light and the photography course enables those taking photographs to change shutter speeds and embellish their work with clever special effects. Attendees need to bring a digital camera with spare batteries and cards and a tripod is useful, but can be provided.
As the course runs with a maximum of six students to two teachers, there is plenty of individual attention over the three hours. The teachers will aim to show the students how to use all the special features on their cameras to ensure some special night-time compositions. Striking photographs might even find their way onto Business Cards, to add a personal and professional flourish.
Alwyn Hanson has been teaching photography for ten years and has been working in the field for over thirty years, so has a of knowledge to impart to eager students.
The Melbourne City Night Photography Course takes place on Thursday 18th April, from 6.30pm until 9.30pm. The meeting place is the GPO Building, Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000. Tickets cost $119. There will be alternative arrangements if rain is forecast.
