Known to many as the King of Pop, British-born Farnham was a pop idol from age 18. In September 1986, his first solo single called ‘You’re the Voice’ reached number one on the Australian singles chart. The album from which it came, ‘Whispering Jack’, was number one in the Australian albums chart for 25 weeks – both single and album were recognised internationally. No doubt on the evening, fans will also hear ‘Sadie (The Cleaning Lady)’, ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head’ and ‘Age of Reason’.
Farnham is a popular performer in his Australian home and has had a number one record or album in five consecutive decades. He has collaborated with many including Tom Jones and Olivia Newton-John. He has received many awards, has performed on stage and is described by rock historian Ian McFarlane as:
“The most successful solo artist in the history of Australian rock and pop…”
