St Kilda Film Festival to come to Greensborough
The longest running short film festival in Australia will be bringing the highlights of the 2025 competition to a venue in Greensborough as part of its Victorian tour.
Considered to be one of the most comprehensive collections of Australian short films, the St Kilda Film Festival showcases the best of the best from emerging filmmakers and industry veterans alike.
The festival is centred on Australia’s Top Short Film Competition, which features a shortlist of 100s of submissions received each year vying for their part of the significant prize pool. These shortlisted films are screened to the public before being judged by a jury of industry experts and previous winners.
Accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, winning an award at the festival qualifies any short film to be entered into the Short Film Awards and Documentary Short categories at the Oscars.
The festival’s Victorian Tour takes the best films of each season’s program to community venues around the state. Hosted by the Banyule City Council, the session at Greensborough Hoyts Cinema will showcase 17 films from the 2025 competition, including the award winners and Director’s Choice selections.
Short film showcase events like this one may turn to poster printing services to produce promotional signage for the event, as well as movie posters to be displayed around the venue.
The Banyule Screening of the St Kilda Film Festival Tour will take place from 7:30 pm on Friday, November 28 at Greensborough Hoyts Cinema.
