Musical comes to Greensborough this August

Greensborough College is teaming up with GJ School Productions to bring a performance of “All Shook Up” to the local community.

All Shook Up is an American musical from 2004 that took its inspiration from Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”. The production is brought to life by music from the songbook of Elvis Presley, and it premiered in 2005 on Broadway.

The musical is set within a squared-shaped Midwest US town in 1955. Excitement is brought into the town with Chad’s entrance, a guitar-playing motorcyclist and ex-prisoner who travels from one town to another singing. The story is about opening people’s hearts to love, pursuing dreams and the potential of music. The performance will feature Presley classics such as “Jailhouse Rock”, “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Don’t Be Cruel”.

GJ School Productions has a Performing Arts Program that gives students aged between 14 and 18 years the chance to put on a filmed performance for their family to enjoy at the end of each week through participation in a five-day program.

All Shook Up will run on three evenings, from Wednesday, 11th August to Friday, 13th August. Each night, it will start at 7.30pm, running for two hours. It will take place at the APAC 2 Performing Arts Theatre in Greensborough College. Community theatre events like this can gain publicity via poster printing.

Tickets can be booked from the Trybooking site, costing $20 for adults and 12 for students and concession cardholders.
