Greensborough youth community prepares for festival
Families and young people from Greensborough and surrounding communities are gearing up to celebrate Banyule YouthFest 2025 next month.
Created by young people for young people, the festival exists as a space for the community’s youth to come together and connect with their peers.
Youthfest 2025 promises a variety of activities to entertain the thousands of guests that typically attend the festival. Rides, live music, market stalls, food trucks, sports, carnival games, free workshops, face painting, hair braiding, henna, a free clothes grab, an art exhibition and a selection of giveaways and prizes will be open to entertain guests all afternoon.
Free for attendees aged 12-25, the festival aims to celebrate young people and youth culture in a safe and inclusive setting.
Local youths are also encouraged to get involved in running the festival itself, with people aged 12-25 invited to share their music skills in live performances, sell their creations in the market space or support the team as a festival volunteer. YouthFest 2024 saw over 75 local young people contribute to the festival as volunteers, stallholders and performers.
Local events like this often use branded T-shirts and other clothing bearing an organisation’s logo design to identify their volunteers.
