Greensborough to host youth worker programme

Hitting the Ground Running is a one-day induction programme that will be held this July for individuals who are new to working with young people and their families.

The induction day is to be hosted by the Banyule Nillumbik Youth Services Network (BNYSN). On the day, attendees will learn about important agencies, issues and services that operate within Nillumbik and Banyule.

To introduce participants to these key services, such as Nillumbik Shire Council, Headspace, healthAbility, Banyule Youth Services, Open House and more, they will be taken on a bus tour. Such a programme can be promoted to Greensborough residents and others within the local area via flyer printing, with Flyers positioned in areas that receive a lot of exposure.

BNYSN is an organisation that represents all important services within the Banyule and Nillumbik regions. Representatives from the institution get together on a monthly basis to talk about key issues faced by young people. They then develop plans that consider these key issues so that young people receive the optimal outcomes.

The induction programme is priced at $25 per person. The cost covers morning tea, lunch and transport for the duration of the programme. Attendees are required to meet at the Nillumbik Shire Council, which is located on 34 Civic Drive in Greensborough. The event will run from 8.45am to 4.45pm on Thursday, 22nd July.
