Climate matters to be addressed in Greensborough

As the new year has well and truly settled in, thoughts may turn to the health of the world as well as ourselves, and there is to be an opportunity for residents of Greensborough to learn more about BBC (Banyule City Council)’s plans in this regard.

The BCC will be holding an informal evening to lay out plans as to how it intends to become an organisation that is carbon neutral by 2028, and how these plans will integrate into the community a few years later.

The latest developments on the existing Corporate Emissions Reduction Plan will be shared, and the newly developing Climate Adaptation Plan strategy will also be revealed. Attendees will be encouraged to provide their input and questions, because the organisers acknowledge that these decisions will affect everyone.

At the end of the meeting, there is a survey to be completed, where those attending can have their say, resulting in a community-minded way to shape and influence the climate change plans for the area. Paper surveys can be provided to local councils by Print shops in the area.

The Responding to Climate Change Forum will be taking place on Tuesday, 13 February, from 7pm until 8.30pm. The location is set to be Banyule City Council, 1 Flintoff Street, Greensborough, VIC 3088. Places are still available, and are free to book online.
