An item which can draw great interest simply because of its title, graphic design or author, Books covering a wide range of topics at Kingston City libraries have been in big demand during 2018.
‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ by Liane Moriarty was the most borrowed book followed by ‘The Tattoist of Auschwitz’ by Heather Morris and ‘The Midnight Line’ by Lee Child.
Collection Coordinator for Kingston Libraries Barrie Gillespie said readers illustrated their diverse tastes in the list of top 10 Books most borrowed in 2018, adding:
“In 2018, we saw a mix of comedies and thrillers top the most popular adult fiction list; self-help Books were among the most-borrowed adult non-fictions and Jeff Kinney’s ‘The Getaway’ was the most popular junior fiction title. This has been the second year in a row we’ve seen ‘The Barefoot Investor’ top the Non-Fiction list.”
The Adult fiction top 10 also included ‘The Woman on the Window’ by A.J. Finn, ‘The Life to Come’ by Michelle de Kretser, and other top titles.
During 2017 to 2018, Kingston libraries welcomed in excess of 650,000 visitors which was a rise of 100,000 on the previous year. According to Gillespie, top picks for the coming year include Call Me Evie (J.P. Pomare), The Rip (Mark Brandi), The Scholar (Dervla McTiernan) and The Rosie Result (Graeme Simsion).Get a Free Quote for Books
