Braeside residents will be able to stock up on fresh farmers produce at the next Kingston Farmer’s Market, which will be held with appropriate COVID-19 safety measures in place.
The markets are run by the Chelsea Rotary Club and the City of Kingston Council and are held on the first Saturday of each month. A $2 donation is required to enter the markets and the rotary club uses these funds to support various community causes.
Over 60 stallholders will be in attendance at the September market and a considerable variety of fresh produce will be available for sale, including specialty cheeses, free-range eggs, cakes, breads, preserves and jams, vegetables, seedlings, fruit and free-range meats, such as chicken and pork.
Social distancing requirements will be enforced to ensure a safe visit and stalls will be spread out to allow plenty of space between customers. No seating will be available and visitors are asked not to consume any food while at the markets – including food samples. While cash will still be accepted, nearly all stallholders now accept debit cards and cashless payment is encouraged.
Markets and other community events often use printing services, such as flyer printing, to advertise market dates and promote events.
The market will be held from 8am to 12.30pm on Saturday, September 5 at the Sir William Fry Reserve on the corner of the Nepean Highway and Bay Street, Highett.
