Australians donate almost $2 million to children's hospital

Officials announced that almost $2 million dollars has been raised for Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital as at 12pm on Good Friday, 2012. The organisation running the fundraising is the Good Friday Appeal. This organisation has raised over $230 million dollars for the Victorian community since it was established in 1931.

One of the reasons that this appeal has been so successful is that the organisation has a lot of support from the community. Volunteers have been on the streets of suburbs such as Braeside with collecting tins and Flyers. Sport and television stars also got involved by spending the day at the hospital. Having well known Australians involved with the charity has helped increase awareness for the cause. Hundreds of Victorian schools have also raised funds on behalf of the appeal.

Organisers of events similar to this can get good results if they have enough manpower. One of the simplest ways to raise money is to use printing services to create promotional materials, such as Flyers or Posters. Flyer printing can help as it is a simple way to inform people about the cause without being overly intrusive. For example, an organisation can place details about charity meetings, contact details, events or websites on the flyer for further information. If people know that donating money is a simple and easy process, they are more likely to donate. Many charities have found that adding information about why they need the money and how it will be used on Flyers has aided them in raising more money for their cause.
