Advice on setting up an online business on offer in Kingston

Business owners from Braeside have the chance to learn more about the world of online marketing and selling at a special workshop in May.

Having an online component to a business is seen as increasingly important in the modern marketplace, and many companies now use websites to publicise their products and services, and even sell online. However, for small businesses, setting up an online presence can be daunting and, it can be hard to maintain a website properly.

The seminar will give participants the skills and knowledge needed to successfully add an internet-based section to their business. Topics covered will include setting up a site, using social media to promote products and interact with customers, and how to create an e-commerce network to enable customers to purchase online.

Once a website is up and running, entrepreneurs should make sure they change their Stationery printing and business card printing orders to incorporate the web address, and possibly social media accounts, into their contact details.

The event is being organised by Business Victoria’s small company section, which helps the state’s businesses develop skills and links with government and is aimed particularly at small and medium-sized enterprises.

The seminar takes place at the Kingston City Council offices in nearby Cheltenham on Wednesday 7th May, and starts at 6pm. Bookings can be made via the Business Victoria website.
