Grand Final of talent competition hosted in Adelaide

Important charities will benefit from the final of a talent competition being played out in Adelaide.

Search For a Star (SFAS) began in 1998 in Adelaide. It was the brainchild of Teresa Bruno and Tony Rocca, who started the initiative in order to raise money for charities such as The Make a Wish Foundation and Childhood Cancer.

The talent competition had its origins in Fellini’s restaurant until 2007, providing a platform for emerging South Australian talent. Over $200,000 was raised over this nine-year period.

The competition was revived this year and it is now almost time for the Grand Final. Also in attendance and sharing the stage for his Adelaide debut will be Marshall Hamburger and his eight-piece band, who are the current winners of Australian Idol.

The SFAS finalists will be competing for a prize that includes two days in a recording studio, a share of a prize fund that stands at $50,000 and a paid performance on a Vietnam Mekong River Cruise.

Residents are often drawn to musical events as printing services will be used to produce colourful Posters and Banners for display.

The Search for a Star Grand Final 2025, with Marshall Hamburger Live, is taking place on Friday 3rd October, from 6.30pm, at the Futures Event Centre, 57 Darley Road, Paradise, Adelaide, SA 5075.
