Gold-winners to perform in Adelaide

Choral fans in the Adelaide area can enjoy a performance from the Adelaide Chloral Ambassadors in September.

At the World Choir Games in 2024, the Adelaide Chloral Ambassadors meted out a gold-winning performance. Their latest offering, Resonance, highlights music from the thirteenth century until the 1900s, encompassing Renaissance melodies, through to Spirituals and Southeast Asian folk, allowing both the past and the present to co-exist in skilful acapella harmonies.

Started and led by conductor Ron Abelita, with fellow choir enthusiasts Gil, Larry and Cess, this community-based choir is just two and a half years old. The ensemble has Filipino heritage, hence there is an emphasis on Southeast Asian music and leading the charge in order to promote its rich choral tradition. At the World Choir Games in Auckland in 2024 the choir came first in the Mixed Chamber Choirs category and has been invited to perform at the Australian National Choral Association’s Choralfest in Victoria in 2026.

Poster printing at local Print shops creates advertising material to be displayed, which is often the way in which an interested community is made aware of cultural music events.

Resonance: Songs Beyond Time is taking place on 21st September, from 5pm until 7pm, at The Auditorium, Adelaide Town Hall, 128 King William Street. Tickets cost from $65. No under tens will be admitted.
