Adelaide to host spectacular light show

Residents of Adelaide might wish to buy tickets for a one-off light and sound event that is taking place in the sky above their city.

The skies above the Adelaide Oval cricket ground will be the integral backdrop of an immense light show that carefully consists of a choreographed mass drone display. The lights will depict the birth of Australia over its 60,000 year history, from the Kaurna People meeting at Karrawirra Parri, to elite sporting events and looking to the future in the spirit of human connection and endeavour.

The multi-sensory experience will be further enhanced by contemporary lighting and screens with audio commentary and music.

This event is one of many as part of Illuminate Adelaide, a month-long vision where technology combines music, art and light to produce pockets of creativity within the city. Event organisers have explained that these happenings are set up to help elevate the winter experience and bring a sense of awe and joy. Designed by innovators and artists, some of the events are ticketed while others are free, so there is plenty for all ages to embrace and enjoy.

City wide programs are often advertised within the community with materials produced by local Print shops.

Horizons is taking place at the Adelaide Oval on Friday, 18 July. The pre-show starts at 5.30pm and tickets cost from $26.
