People in the locality of Adelaide can soon enjoy Christmas festivities at the city’s annual Carols by Candlelight event.
Adelaide’s first Carols by Candlelight was held in 1944 on Christmas Eve, where almost 10% of South Australians gathered to celebrate. For more than 70 years, the concert has taken place, all while raising funds for charities.
In 2022, St John Ambulance South Australia took on the role of custodian of this popular service so that the charity is in receipt from the event. Colourful Posters advertising community events like this one can be produced by local Print shops.
Hosted by presenters of 7News, families and friends can gather with picnic rugs and their own food and drink, although there will be opportunity to purchase from food stalls as well. Santa will be available for photographs, local artists will be entertaining in the Experience Adelaide Community Concert, and as the main concert starts, singing along by all will be encouraged. There will also be a Christmas market, and the evening will be concluded by a firework display.
The St John Ambulance Carols by Candlelight is taking place on Saturday, 13 December, from 3 pm until 11 pm, with the main concert taking place from 8.30 pm. The venue is Elder Park/Tarntanya Wama, which can be found on King William Road. The event is free to attend, although there is a cost of $90.13 for a reserved seat.
