Wuthering Heights to be commemorated in Milton
Die-hard Kate Bush fans in the Milton area might well want to pay homage and join in a Wuthering Heights Day at Frew Park.
The day consists of a gathering of Wuthering Heights fans, dressed in red dresses, trying to emulate the iconic Wuthering Heights video from 1978, in a light-hearted and joyful manner. This is an event where over-acting is to be encouraged.
Instructions will be given, to including a run-through of the choreography and dance moves. After a few rehearsals, the routine will be performed several times over with the massed crowd. Kate Bush music will be playing and there will be photo opportunities and the chance to connect with other fans.
The event is partly inspired by Shambush, who were responsible for curating a similar event at the Brighton Fringe Festival in the UK in 2013.
A portion of the monies raised will go to the charity DVCONNECT, a charity that supports victims of domestic abuse. Provided by local printing services, literature about the charity may well be present at the event as a means of publicity.
The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever Brisbane is taking place on Saturday 20th July, from 2pm until 4pm. The venue is Frew Park, Frew Street, Milton, Brisbane, QLD. Donations welcome to help cover costs, to include a donation to DVCONNECT.
