Workshop to encourage youths to create healthy meals

Nutritionist and former MasterChef finalist, Chloe Ann Carroll will be holding monthly workshops from March aimed at getting young people interested in cooking and creating healthy meals at home.

Chloe Ann is passionate about home cooking and she believes that developing an interest in cooking from a young age can help children adopt healthy eating habits and healthy attitudes to food.

The four-hour workshops for young people aged from 12 to 20 years, plus a parent or guardian, introduce participants to meal planning and buying ingredients. It includes a visit to the Milton Markets to choose fresh produce.

Working in the LifeShape kitchen, Chloe Ann will teach cooking basics, such as how to use kitchen equipment and read recipes and how to experiment with flavours. The workshops are designed to be fun and interactive and, of course, end with delicious food to share with the family.

Events such as this often use promotional products to remind participants of things they have learned.

The cost of workshops is $275 for a parent and child learning together. The cost includes all food, the use of kitchen equipment, utensils and aprons for all participants. They will be held at the LifeShape Kitchen, on Level 1, 19-23 Cribb Street, Milton. Upcoming workshop dates are Sunday 31st March, Sunday 5th May and Sunday 2nd June. Bookings can be made by contacting LifeShape.
